Do you believe...?

Do you believe that everything in life happens for a reason and do you believe in 6 degrees of separation. Not the Kevin Bacon thing. I believe both I was just curious of other peoples takes on these things.

Do you believe...?
I believe that things happen in ones life for a reason and i have seen this first hand in my own life and the lives of those close to me. But along the way we do have concious choices to make.

Re: 6 degrees of seperation, I dont want to comment on something im not fully aware of I need to read more about this concept myself.
Reply:No I believe you have the power to affect your own future, manifest destiny :)
Reply:Yes and No!!!
Reply:Six degrees of separation is the hypothesis that anyone on Earth can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances with no more than five intermediaries.

The hypothesis was first proposed in 1929 by the Hungarian writer Karinthy Frigyes in a short story called Chains. The concept is based on the idea that the number of acquaintances grows exponentially with the number of links in the chain, and so only a small number of links is required for the set of acquaintances to become the whole human population.

By extension, the same term is often used to describe any other setting in which some form of link exists between individual entities in a large set. For example, "see also" links in a dictionary entry may point the reader to other entries in the same dictionary; after following only six such links, the reader could potentially get to any word in the dictionary that has a link to it. In this special case of a dictionary, it is sometimes called the six links rule.

Everything happening for a reason, smacks of fate, destiny or predestination. This way of thinking would negate free will, therefore I do not believe in it.
Reply:Most things in life usually have a selfish reason. Somebody is getting something out of it, even if it is just 'brownie points'... or votes. Can't help you on the degrees of separation thing.
Reply:I believe that everything has a reason. I've seen proof of that in my own life. Sometimes it takes years for a person to learn where the incident has made an influence on them.

There are no accidents or coincidences.

My personal opinion only.
Reply:I definitely believe in the6 degrees of separation, since I know some politicians and have met some actors
Reply:First of all (Yes I do believe that everything in life happens for a reason): 6 degrees of seperation,I have never herd that before,so I don't even know what it is suposed to mean.
